Research Interests
Nobel metal based composites for industrial catalysis; Self-assembly of functional materials with desired interface and properties; Biomimetic routes to functional materials.

Main Contributions and Projects
His research focuses on the design, synthesis and application of functional nanomaterials. By using the state-of-the-art characterization tools, he is trying to understand the formation mechanism and physiochemical properties of nanostructures, from which he can design and fabricate novel functional materials for various demanding applications, especially energy-related fields. He has published about 50 peer-reviewed papers in top-ranked journals, including JACS, Angew. Chem., Acc. Chem. Res., Nano Lett., etc. The papers have been cited over 2,800 times with an H-index of 30. He has been awarded several prestigious awards, including the“1000 Young Talents Program” Scholar (2014), IUPAC Prizes for Young Chemists (IUPAC, 2013), Graduate Student Award (MRS, 2011&2012), etc. He has been PI or co-PI of a number of projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu.
